The Pentax Optio W10 comes with many interesting features as well as 6 megapixels and interline transfer CCD with primary colour filter. This compact camera has a total zoom of 12x (3x optical and 4x digital), smc Pentax 6.3-18.9mm f3.3-4.00 zoom lens and a 10.5 MB internal memory. The Pentax Optio W10 also takes SD memory cards.
There are 24 recording modes to choose from which are pre-programmed to suit particular situations. These include; movie, voice, night, kids, fireworks, portrait, landscape, sport, candle light, sunset and underwater. The Pentax W10 is waterproof to a depth of 1.5m. There are also 10 special effect modes - black/white, sepia, blue, red, green, yellow, pink, purple, brightness and soft.
The Optio W10 has a large 2.5" colour monitor, low reflection type with adjustable brightness. Images can be played back as a nine image display, zoom view up to 8x magnification and image protection. Movies can be played back with sound and can be edited on camera (frame grab, clip cut, clip stitch). Other editing functions include trimming and resize with digital filters present on playback with overwrite or 'save as' modes.
MOV format movies with sound can be shot at 30 or 15fps to the limit of the card, and the anti shake feature overides blurry images due to camera shake.
Focus ranges are; normal, macro, manual, pan and other focus options within the Pentax Optio W10 include; 9 point multi AF, Spot and Tracking AF, TTL contrast detection, infinity focus lock and pan/manual focus modes. ISO sensitivity is auto, 64/100/200/400/800 with white balance as automatic, shade, daylight, tungsten, fluorescent and manual.
The Pentax W10 has auto flash, flash on, flash off and red-eye reduction options with a range of 0.2m - 3.6m (wide) or 0.5m - 3m (tele). The camera is powered by a rechargeable L-Ion battery and a battery charger comes with the package with an AC adaptor available as an optional extra.
The camera can be connected to a computer or a TV and is DPOF, DCF, Exif 2.2 and PIM III compatible. It is also PictBridge compatible for easy printing.
