The Sony Ericsson C902 in Titanium silver is the latest mobile phone association with Secret Agent James Bond, and Mr. Bond uses the Sony Ericsson in his latest movie. The phone will be available for a limited period and will include a memory card loaded with a host of 007 content.
Users will get the chance to know exactly what it takes to be a secret agent like James Bond with the first level of an exclusive pre-loaded spy-style game. In addition, the full colour trailer of the film, behind-the-scenes interviews with the stars and exclusive content such as wallpapers and screen savers will be available on the phone and the memory card.
The C902 Cyber-shot TM phone is used throughout the film by James Bond to capture evidence and assist the agent on his mission and really lives up our high expectations. It has an amazingly good camera phone with a 5 megapixel camera and a unique slide-out lens cover, illuminated touch icons with face-detection autofocus. Great for Bond to photograph the bevy of beauties he always seems to encounter on his assignments, or in more practical terms for Bond to send high resolution shots back to MI6 for quick recognition of his enemies. An Accelerometer feature senses which way up the phone is being held, and will automatically rotate your pictures into portrait or landscape mode, great for when Bond is on the run!
It's a classic-style handset, but is also ultra-slim measuring just 10.5mm. The keypad has good-size square keys giving tactile feedback and enabling fast texting for when Bond's on the move. We're also delighted to find a 5-way navigation pad that really works.
Although its a Cyber-Shot phone, the C902 has great music capabilities too, brilliant for all those romantic Bond moments. The PlayNow™ feature also lets you personalise your phone by downloading an MP3 ringtone, we're guessing Bond will chose Another Way To Die. You can plug in a stereo headphone, or use an optional Bluetooth stereo headset for safe hands free talking/driving. It also packs in FM radio with HSDPA support enabling an "always-on" internet connection with download speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps - comparable with a home broadband connection. As well as being 3G, it's a quadband and will hold loads of memory, a must for all those encrypted messages Bond will receive from MI 6!! And in addition it's a super slim stylish/elegant handset available in Black Red or Titanium.
Battery life is adequate, but ultraslim phones tend to have shorter battery lives than conventional phones, which isn't surprising. The smaller screen size does help to reduce power consumption, and we don't think that the battery life will be an issue for most users.We had hoped that the C902 would be free of bugs, but a number of users have reported problems with the phone freezing or crashing occasionally which could spell disaster for Bond! It seems that Sony Ericsson still need to improve the reliability of their firmware.
Still we love this phone! It seems like Sony Ericsson have gone back to a design that works, not just for Bond but for all us Bond wannabees too!!
