The Sony Ericsson K550im is one of those phones that sticks in the memory, but for a very strange reason – it is one of the very few Sony Ericsson phones that has it and does it all! Sony Ericssons are usually phones that do one thing and do it well, but neglect the other features that similar phones on the market have. This often appeals to Sony Ericsson fans but not to the general public. However, the K550im is very different. As part of the Cybershot range, it is held up as a major example for the rest of the brand’s products to follow!
The aesthetics of the K550im are extremely classy. With clean lines, a slim frame and a lightweight body, there is nothing you can ask for that is not already present on the handset itself. The screen and keypad are proportionate and make the phone a joy to use as well as to behold. It really is the complete package from the outside, as well as on the inside, which is why such British movie icons as Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly would not look out of place with one in their hands!
In addition to the aesthetically pleasing outward appearance, the K550im actually has functionality that put the rest of the Cybershot range to shame. As the name of the range suggests, the camera is awesome in terms of the results that it delivers in picture after picture, as well as its ease of use. The camera is actually 2MP and focuses automatically so that you do not miss the perfect picture as a result of a fuzzy backdrop. The clarity is top notch as well, with the images being displayed in brilliant colour time after time. What takes it to the next level though it the fact that you have many editing options to choose from so you can actually make your pictures appear how you want them to!
The K550im also has great music functionality with active volume control that means that you can play the music of your choice to your own degree of sound. MP3 files play really well on the phone with the sound quality being great and the navigation between songs being easy!
Although the inbuilt memory could be better at 64MB, the K550im actually supports micro memory sticks and thus the memory can be enhanced by up to a whooping 2GB. As a result, you can store hundreds of tunes and images without having to wipe out your phone memory before you press the save button! As you can see here, functionality and practicality supports the features so just sit back and enjoy the delight that is the K550im.
