Fuji FinePix F100fd Review
The Fuji FinePix F100fd goes beyond ultra sensitivity by extending its dynamic range, the range between dark and bright areas, to achieve even more detail in your photograph and capturing the changes in tone. The Fujinon 5x optical zoom lens is praised by many in the professional field as it has the ability to deliver high performance and clarity.
The 12 megapixel Super CCD VIII and 8.2x digital zoom offer high resolution and sensitivity resulting in highly detailed photographs which are clear and sharp also with the help of the RP Processor III.
Images are stored on the internal memory of approximately 57MB or on xD-Picture Card or SD/SDHC memory card. File format is JPEG (Exif Ver 2.2) for still images, AVI (Motion JPEG) with sound, WAVE for movies. Movie recording is at 30fps - 640x480/320x240. The Fuji FinePix F100fd has a 2.7" amorphous silicon TFT colour LCD and playback functions include; Face Detection, slide show, multi-frame, single frame, sorting by date and trimming. Video output is NTSC / PAL selectable.
Sensitivity ranges are auto, auto (3200), auto (1600), auto (800) and auto (400) which are ISO equivalents of 100/200/400/800/1600/3200/6400, White Balance has automatic scene recognition, fluorescent, incandescent, custom and preset and flash has auto flash and modes of red-eye removal off/on, forced flash, suppressed flash and slow syncro.
The Fuji F100fd offers various shooting modes where settings have been preselected to suit certain scenarios and these include auto, natural light, sport, fireworks, night, sunset, beach, underwater, snow, portrait and landscape and focus modes are auto, continuous AF with AF assist light available. Focus distances are normal and macro.
